Colaiste Muire
Colaiste Muire is a Catholic, Co-Educational Secondary school under the Trusteeship of the Presentation Brothers Schools Trust (PBST) "We are committed to working together to make Christ's Gospel of Love known and
relevant to each succeeding generation"
Edmund Rice 1762-1844
The school has its origins in the first two secondary schools in Cobh, Co. Cork. They were St. Mary’s Secondary School founded by the Sisters of Mercy and Presentation Brothers College founded by the Presentation Brothers. The two schools amalgamated in 1976 to form Colaiste Muire. We are grateful to the students, parents, staff, chaplains, principals, management, and trustees, who have gone before us and who have helped to shape our history. Our school is deeply rooted in the charisms of the founders, Catherine McAuley and Edmund Rice.
Mission Statement Coláiste Muire is a Christian community of students, staff, parents, chaplaincy and management who work together towards the common goal of preparing young people for living life to the full, as committed Christians, as concerned and loving people and as responsible members of society.
We provide excellent opportunities for academic, spiritual, social and personal development for our students. We believe in active School/Home co-operation. Regular contact is maintained with parents through Parent/Teacher meetings, individual meetings and the Parents' Council. The Students’ Council plays an active role in our community of school/pupil/parent/community partnership.
